As for your Carmen revision, you've done such a great job this time around! There were so many instances when I literally exclaimed out loud: "Yes!"

*preens*

Heh. Heh heh heh heh heh.

And [info]debg, be on notice, I will be on the lookout for anything that may potentially bop me over the head. And those shoes may just be Super Glued onto my feet. :-P

Heh. Bree already owns them, and she and I are the same size - oh, wait, she's fictional.

No worries. Assuming I can walk, I'll be wearing my Jimmy Choos.

Jimmy and Christian—what a formidable high heeled duo we'll be. *g*

Since we're wallowing in the high-end shoe end (my Jimmys are Brents, aka 4" black dinner sandals that actually tie around your foot, ever so bondagey), who's making your dress? I'm going black D&G for the cocktail party, possibly vintage copper-green kimono for anything else.

I need an obi, damn it. I keep forgetting to go to Japantown and buy one, since I have no money right this moment. Luckily, plenty of time to procure one.

Well, right now, I have no publisher parties to go to, given that I'm a Pocket orphan and I'm not technically a Berkley author, so that leaves me with just the RITAs to dress for, which is full out formal since I'm presenting. So I'm either going to go with the hot pink Marchesa I bought on deeeeep sale after the holidays

or the vintage Versace that I just unearthed, complete with tags also at a stoopit price.

I like the Marchesa, but is it hot pink? The picture looks almost blood-scarlet.

I could totally wear that dress. The Versace doesn't appeal to me much, but the Marchesa is sensational.

Wonder if there's a picture of my D&G anywhere...

It is, indeed, rather pink. Almost a deep raspberry—lots of blue in it. But damn, Marchesa cuts their empire waists narrow. I definitely need to lose some weight and be very careful not to bulk up on the upper body musculature, because otherwise,no way that zipper's going up.

I love the Versace because the way the upper bodice is cut, it really emphasizes my shoulders and the overall hourglass, which strangely, has a net effect of also lengthening me out and making me look taller than 5'2". It's amazing how a good cut can be almost as crucial as a good fit.

Actually, looking at the Marchesa again, I still love it but I couldn't wear it - my ribs are way too big and I'm too busty. This is the issue with being built like flabby supermodel with big boobs and no cleavage: the cuts are a skosh limited.

Couldn't find my D&G online. It's very Bree, black meshy gauzy with overlong scrunchy sleeves and a shitload of tiny buttons. Original price was $1,990; I got it for just around 95% off at Neiman's Last Call outlet back when we had money to play with, and I haven't worn it yet. It's a shorter version of the dress that Bree's wearing at the Boston gig in R&RNF, where John wakes up in hospital and is watching her through a demerol haze, thinking baby's back, all dressed in b;ack...she's walkin' the dog

Mind you , I still have to do a third revision, but Lovely Editor assures me this is mostly to tighten some things near the end, which didn't surprise me, actually. I had had some ideas about changes for the last third of the book, but they were predicated on changes I'd made in the first two thirds of the book. I kind of wanted to make sure that she liked those changes before I went messing with the end, if that makes any sense?

But still. SHE LIKED IT!

Yep, totally makes sense. Hurray!

Get the shoes. Go out with the boyz.
