| Bio: | Despite the somewhat misleading LJ handle, I'm a writer. I toil and struggle over a hot keyboard, clad in my fashionable apron, heels, and pearls, with a sarcastic, slightly left of center sense of humor which is good when dealing with the nutty industry known as publishing. I'm a music fiend, pop culture fiend, and a dedicated Mac junkie, I wouldn't know what to do without my TiBook, iPod, and iTunes. Sad, yes, but it's the iTruth.
I write Teen/Young Adult fiction as Caridad Ferrer and most anything else has Barbara tacked in front of it. Catchy, has a nice beat and happenin' tropical groove, dontcha think? My first novel, ADIÓS TO MY OLD LIFEwas relased in 2006 by MTV Books and won the Romance Writers of America 2007 RITA® for Best Contemporary Single Title Romance. (That's a long story.) My second MTV release is called IT'S NOT ABOUT THE ACCENT and is set for an August '07 release. Why yes, I have been doubly blessed by the cover gods. Come 2009, I'll be releasing my updated take on the Carmen story-- more on that as it happens.
